General Specifics is the creative practice of Cole Orloff.

I'm a highly-conceptual and process-driven creative leader. Catalyzing creativity, innovation, and change. And multiplying possibilities for success in creative departments by connecting the dots between ideas, ensuring congruence between disciplines on cross-functional teams, delivering clear feedback, and empowering teams to make excellent and impactful work.

My deep understanding of story, strategy, design, production, and leadership comes from practical experience across a myriad of contexts. Including establishing and directing a 20-person in-house agency for a $2.5B dollar company. 

I'm credited as a creative director, copywriter, art director, designer, film director, photographer, brand strategist, and industrial designer. 

I earned a Master’s from the ITP at NYU. It's where I learned why computers go beep boop bop, picked up some stuff about interactive media, web technologies, product design, programming, UX, electronics, prototyping, and fabrication.

Also, one time, the New York Times called my sketch comedy “downright poignant.”
